Gîtes de France helps rural populations promote holidays in the French countryside by strict quality control of accommodation. Quality here is taken very seriously indeed because holiday-makers expect to get what they pay for! Gîtes de France is a non-profit Association. Members are owners of the S/C homes and B&Bs they let to holiday-makers. All are committed to promoting GdF values — friendly holidays in family surroundings.

The quality of each Gîtes de France accommodation is recognised by the award of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 “corn ears” — like the stars awarded to hotels.
The Gîtes de France quality label guarantees precise comfort standards (from one to five Ears), and the respect of a national charter to you.
All Gîtes of France accommodation is classified by environment, degree of comfort and services. Every unit is controlled at least once every five years.
Beyond the guaranteed comfort and quality, our owners are all extremely friendly and enjoy hosting you in an authentic family atmosphere.
